Swell Neuropsychology is an adult (18+) focused private practice serving the greater Portland, Maine area. We provide comprehensive and targeted neuropsychological/psychological evaluations for an array of cognitive concerns, ranging from neurodevelopmental to neurodegenerative conditions. We also provide evidence-based psychotherapy to individuals and caregiver support groups.

In our practice, we are committed to providing recommendations and interventions that are grounded in scientific research. We focus on the whole person—addressing cognitive, psychological, and physical well-being—so that every aspect of an individual's health is considered.

Swell also refers to an actual ocean wave.
In nature, a swell is a self-sustaining wave that continues to move forward, even after the external forces (like wind or storms) that created it have faded. This is a powerful metaphor for mental health: sometimes, challenges or patterns persist even after the original trigger is gone, because the energy continues from within.

In therapy, we help individuals recognize these self-sustaining patterns. Our goal is to support individuals in developing insight into their own thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, building awareness that real change comes from within, and empowering them to harness their own momentum for growth and positive change.
